I attempted with Barclaycard and they rejected although have a feeling it's cause I attempted to do it as a bulk chargeback. I will be trying again this week!

i emailed the company who fronts them and they refunded within 2 days, no reply other than to say they were investigating but the refund came through.

Mostly send invites through any social or private channels possible, making it look like an irresistible or VIP offer.
