Hi guys have been trying to read some pages but quite a lot of them! would like some help if that’s ok.

I am from the UK and stupidly gambled on an unlicensed betting site. However on the 18th November I realised things were getting out of hand and asked to be blocked. I emailed them around 8 times stating I had an addiction and wanted my account blocked asap and for the longest time possible. It shows they do this on their terms and conditions and despite them receiving my emails they replied offering me bonuses to stay time and time again.

anyways I raise a chargeback with three banks. Two banks have said yes and are doing the chargeback as I have all the email evidence - under something around services not recieved.

just wondering what are my chances of winning them? I read online it’s low and the bank told me as it’s gambling they only raising it as a goodwill.

Most vendors, as soon as they see a chargeback, refund immediately as they do not want the attention and potential fines from the card schemes.

Some will use the ID you provided when you signed up to the casino to produce fake invoices and say you received the goods/services.

If that's the case, you need to explain to the bank what is going on, show them evidence of why (No csgo account in that name etc) and ask them to escalate it to pre-arbitration.

True, to a degree. We as customers, do have an informal contract with the issuers in that an element of the price we pay for everything we buy with these cards is a fee WE effectively pay to them.

In the UK, the FCA sets a standard called 'Consumer Duty' that all financial firms must adhere to.

Mastercard are failing in that duty by blocking chargebacks against scam, unlicensed and blackmarket casinos.

Speaking only for myself, of course, ALL of my relapsing and failure to control my addiction was borne out of my Banks initial refusal to chargeback. I thought I could just win it back. And £16k later, here we are!
