I have had quite a few problems with online casino's over the years, some were to do with withdrawing money from my account etc. These issues were eventually resolved after using Casino Guru's complaint service.

What I thought was really bad was when I approched instant casino to say that I wanted my account put on the self exclusion. I was astounded that they replied and said that my account was put on a 24 hour cooling off period. The 24 hours lapsed and was able to access my account again. This sort of behaviour could of caused a mental health emergency due to more gambling issues.

It caused more losses, I found that Instant casino was very irresponsible letting a person who has a gambling problem to continue to use their platform...

Also with instant casino they all of a sudden asked for verification when I won a huge amount of money. Before my previous withdrawals were processed with no issues, it was only when I tried to withdraw a larger amount I ran into trouble.

I've decided to never use online casino's again because I just kept running into problems and excuses. I'm only going to play now in Australian pubs and clubs where you are guarenteed to get your payout without any stalling or excuses.

Has anyone else ran into this sort of shady behaviour?

What you described with Instant Casino isn't just a mistake, it's dangerous negligence. The self-exclusion feature is a protection mechanism that should work. A 24hour ban is a mockery of the very idea of responsible gaming. They essentially ignored your cry for help, and the casino is directly to blame for the consequences. You're absolutely right to call this irresponsibility.

I haven't encountered this, but thank you for sharing. It's something I need to pay attention to.

Hello,

Could you please close my account permanently. I’m a very sick person who has an addiction to gambling.

Please do not offer a 24 hour cooling off period. Doing that was completely irresponsible and caused more losses.

Thanks

Richard

Hello, since you are familiar with the complaint feature, you are welcome to lodge another complaint. I would also like to say that it's wonderful to see you're trying to self-exclude. Do you aim to try to self-exclude from casinos where you previously registered?

I'm asking because I think that's a really big challenge. So, I hope it will work.

Yes I have self excluded from other online casinos as well but my problem is I can not stop. It makes it hard when you have a disability and impulse control issues

I am seeing a psychologist and psychiatrist about this issue. The casino did not help me when I first tried to self excluded by enforcing the cooling off period.

I have have lodged a complaint because I thought their self exclusion policy is very unfair. Doubt they will help but it is worth a try when you believe their policies are not safe.. in the past casino guru was able to help me recover funds

,My bank has also helped me in the past by refunding losses. They refunded me money before but they are unable to reverse the transaction. This meant the bank payed for my losses as a goodwill gesture but that was once only.

It sounds like you’re actually taking some important steps already (seeing a psychologist/psychiatrist, trying self-exclusion), which is good, even if it doesn’t feel like it’s working yet.

At the same time, relying on refunds or expecting the casino to "catch it in time" is really unreliable. Those things sometimes happen, but they’re not something you can count on or build a solution around. As you just experienced.

If impulse control is a big factor, it might be worth focusing more on barriers on your side, like stricter bank blocks, limiting access to funds, or having a third party help you control finances. Self-exclusion alone often isn’t enough if there are still ways around it.

Regarding the complaint, it’s fine to pursue it if you feel the process wasn’t handled properly, but I’d treat that separately from solving the bigger issue.

The main priority right now is reducing access and giving yourself as few opportunities to gamble as possible while you’re working through it with professionals, don't you think?

100% I won't be using anymore overseas websites for gambling.

What I do know is, I can't gamble like a normal person. It always has to be

a spend of $500 to $1000 to make it interesting which is crazy when I don't make a lot of money.

I've decided to contact my psycologist / psyciatrist to help with my impulse control issues. I'll also review my access to money and to find a way to restrict the access to it

Also never to deal with overseas gambling websites ever again because they do have such shady practices and it is not safe at all.

That actually sounds like a really important realization.

Being honest about the fact that you can’t gamble "casually" is a big step. A lot of people struggle to admit that to themselves.

Reaching out to your psychologist/psychiatrist is definitely the right move here, especially with the impulse control side of things.

I’d just be careful with framing it only as "overseas sites are the problem." They can have issues, sure, but the pattern you described (needing bigger amounts to feel anything) would likely carry over anywhere.

If anything, this is a good moment to put as many barriers in place as possible, I mean, not just avoiding certain sites, but limiting access altogether while you work through it with professionals.

It’s not an easy place to be, but you’re at least pointing yourself in the right direction now.

Thank you so much for talking to me. It really has made me feel a lot better about the situation.

You are right, there is a deeper issue with money because at the moment I am treating it like

confetti and not thinking how long it took me to earn that money.

Does not make sense that for the last month or so the gambling bug has come back and have been using my entire pay on each payday on gambling. The struggling really does hurt when having to wait till payday again to fix things up and payback the people I owed money to.
