καταρχάς: θεωρώ ότι η ιδέα ενός πολύγλωσσου φόρουμ και η προσβασιμότητα που προκύπτει είναι βασικά καλή και άξια υποστήριξης.

θεωρητικά. στην πράξη, δεν νομίζω ότι λειτουργεί. είναι συχνά αδύνατο να κατανοήσετε το νόημα μιας ανάρτησης χρησιμοποιώντας τον εσωτερικό μεταφραστή του ιστότοπου. το διάβασμα (και η προσπάθεια κατανόησης) είναι συχνά κουραστικό και δυσάρεστο και μειώνει σημαντικά την προθυμία για συνέχιση της ανάγνωσης και της επικοινωνίας (τουλάχιστον στην περίπτωσή μου). το ίδιο ισχύει για την ενότητα συζήτησης στις σελίδες του καζίνο.

Δυστυχώς, το κουμπί "πρωτότυπη εκπομπή" δεν βοηθά, με τη γλωσσική ποικιλομορφία (π.χ. καταλαβαίνω επαρκώς μόνο δύο γλώσσες) θα έπρεπε να εισάγετε κάθε τρίτη ανάρτηση σε εξωτερικό μεταφραστή. φυσικά αυτή η προσπάθεια γίνεται μόνο σε εξαιρετικές περιπτώσεις.

Με την έννοια μιας πιο ρευστή ανταλλαγής, δεν θα ήταν ίσως καλύτερο να χρησιμοποιήσουμε τα αγγλικά ως πρότυπο φόρουμ;

Θα μπορούσα να φανταστώ ότι το εργαλείο μετάφρασης στη σελίδα θα έβγαζε επίσης πιο κατανοητά αποτελέσματα στην αντίστοιχη μητρική γλώσσα του αναγνώστη.

first of all: i find the idea of a multi-lingual forum and the resulting accessibility basically good and worthy of support.

in theory. in practice, i don't think it works. it is often impossible to grasp the meaning of a post using the site's internal translator. reading (and trying to understand) is often tedious and unpleasant and reduces the willingness to continue reading and communicate considerably (at least in my case). same applies for the discussion section on the casino pages.

unfortunately, the "original show" button does not help, with the linguistic diversity (e.g. I only understand two languages sufficiently) you would have to enter every third post in an external translator. of course, this effort is only made in exceptional cases.

In the sense of a more fluid exchange, wouldn't it perhaps be better to use English as a forum standard?

I could imagine that the in-page translation tool would then also spit out more understandable results in the respective mother tongue of the reader.

Hello,

I mostly agree with you, I usually face such "difficulties" with languages with a different written form, such as the Russian, Greek, and Ukrainian languages. You can see very often me asking whether I understand correctly. 🙂

On the other hand, those people who decide to post on our forum using their mother languages can only do so on our forum I believe and lots of them can do that just nicely. And when it is necessary they use some translator beforehand to help us understand. I think this is definitely a positive attitude from both sides, would be pitty lose it.

The in-page translator is already built-in, otherwise, the languages you have not set as "understandable" would not get translated at all.

I think that we do not intend to set English as a standard language, also because our website is already and fully translated into other 15 languages.

But I will keep a note of your suggestion - thank you.

Η πρότασή μου στην πραγματικότητα αναφερόταν μόνο σε δημοσιεύσεις στο φόρουμ και σχόλια από χρήστες στην ενότητα του καζίνο, όχι στον ιστότοπο αυτό καθαυτό. Θα ήταν περισσότερο από κρίμα να μην ήταν πλέον διαθέσιμο στην αντίστοιχη εθνική γλώσσα και να μην μιλούν όλοι αγγλικά - αυτό είναι επίσης σαφές μέχρι στιγμής.

αλλά! Δεν είναι πολύ δύσκολο να χρησιμοποιήσετε έναν αξιοπρεπή μεταφραστή όπως ο DeepL για μια ανάρτηση (τον οποίο μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε δωρεάν) και ειδικά με τις μεταφράσεις του στα αγγλικά τα αποτελέσματα είναι απολύτως πειστικά. θα σήμαινε απλώς μια μικρή επιπλέον προσπάθεια για τον αποστολέα.

Στην πραγματικότητα, η προσπάθεια επικοινωνίας δεν αυξάνεται στην περαιτέρω πορεία της συνομιλίας, επειδή ακόμη και τώρα ο σχολιαστής συνήθως λαμβάνει τις απαντήσεις του σε άλλη γλώσσα από τη μητρική του γλώσσα και απ' όσο μπορώ να καταλάβω, το εργαλείο μετάφρασης στην τοποθεσία λειτουργεί καλά κατά τη μετάφραση από τα αγγλικά στην αντίστοιχη μητρική γλώσσα.

Νομίζω ότι η προσπάθεια για τον αποστολέα θα ήταν ακόμη μικρότερη, καθώς μπορεί να γίνει καλύτερα κατανοητός την πρώτη φορά και ίσως να λάβει περισσότερες απαντήσεις. για να είμαι ειλικρινής, παραιτούμαι τώρα το αργότερο στο τρίτο ανόητο (μεταφρασμένο) σχόλιο και παραλείπω τη βαθμολογία ή το νήμα των χρηστών.

(παρεμπιπτόντως, μόλις έριξα μια ματιά στην αρχική ανάρτηση σχετικά με τον τρέχοντα διαγωνισμό και από την πλευρά μου λάβατε το δεύτερο like αυτόν τον μήνα. Ωστόσο, φοβάμαι ότι θα είναι άχρηστο για εσάς 😀😀😀)

my suggestion actually only referred to posts in the forum and comments from users in the casino section, not to the site as such. it would be more than a pity if it was no longer available in the respective national language and not everyone speaks english - that is also clear so far.

but! it's not too much trouble to use a decent translator like DeepL for a post (which you can use for free) and especially with it´s translations into english the results are absolutely convincing. it would just mean a small additional effort for the sender.

in fact, the communication effort is not increased in the further course of the conversation, because even now the commenter usually receives his answers in a language other than his native tongue & as far as I can tell, the in-site translation tool works well when translating from English back into the respective mother tongue.

i think the effort for the sender would even be less, since he/she might be better understood the first time and maybe receives more answers. to be honest i now give up at the latest at the third gibberish (translated) comment and skip user rating or thread.

(by the way, i just glanced over the initial post about the current contest and from my side you have now received the second like this month. though, i'm afraid this will be useless for you 😀😀😀)

Γεια σας, διαβάζω την πρότασή σας εδώ και ειλικρινά εκπλήσσομαι. Συμφωνώ ότι ορισμένες μεταφράσεις δεν είναι οι καλύτερες, ειδικά οι μεταφράσεις σε ορισμένες γλώσσες. Γι' αυτό επίσης δεν έβαλα αυτόματη μετάφραση στα Τσεχικά για μένα, αλλά στα Αγγλικά. Επειδή έχω πολύ καλύτερη εμπειρία με τις αγγλικές μεταφράσεις. Εξετάζω τις ρυθμίσεις σας εδώ και μπορώ να δω ότι το έχετε ρυθμίσει στα Αγγλικά.

Είπα ότι είμαι έκπληκτος, γιατί γενικά, πιστεύω ότι οι αυτόματες μεταφράσεις είναι πολύ αξιοπρεπείς (μιλώντας για μεταφράσεις στα αγγλικά). Όλη η ομάδα του CasinoGuru ασχολείται με αυτές τις αυτόματες μεταφράσεις σε καθημερινή βάση - μπορείτε για παράδειγμα να δείτε ολόκληρη την ενότητα παραπόνων.

Πιστεύω επίσης ότι οι αυτόματες μεταφράσεις είναι ένα από τα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά που μας επέτρεψαν να αναπτύξουμε το φόρουμ της κοινότητας τόσο γρήγορα. Αυτό συμβαίνει απλώς και μόνο επειδή ακόμη και οι παίκτες που δεν μιλούν αγγλικά βρήκαν το δικό τους μέρος όπου μπορούν να συζητήσουν για τον τζόγο. Ειλικρινά, δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ το φόρουμ χωρίς αυτόματες μεταφράσεις και να είναι μόνο στα αγγλικά. Οι μεταφράσεις είναι ένα από τα κύρια χαρακτηριστικά του.

Hi, I'm reading your suggestion here and I'm honestly surprised. I agree that some translations aren't the best, especially translations to certain languages. That's also why I didn't set automatic translation to Czech for myself, but English instead. Since I have much better experience with English translations. I'm looking at your settings here and I can see you have it set for English.

I said I'm surprised, because generally speaking, I believe the automatic translations are very decent (speaking about translations to English). The whole CasinoGuru team is dealing with those automatic translations on a daily basis - you can look at the whole complaints section for example.

I also believe that the automatic translations are one of main key features that allowed us to grow the community forum so quickly. That's simply because even players who don't speak English found their own place where they can discuss gambling. Honestly, I can't imagine the forum without automatic translations and being only in English. The translations are one of the main features of it.

the automatic translations wouldn't be off the table and for non english speakers not much would change, but i think i already explained that above (in a way too long text :).

for me the whole thing so far actually does not work as well as for you, I was just - as surprised as you - to read your statement, but well, maybe the translation tool just does not like me ;)

either way, it was just a suggestion and there's no reason to stick to it if it works well for you and everyone else as it is.

I mean, I appreciate any suggestions we receive here and even though English isn't my mother tongue, we (from CasinoGuru) all write in English here to make sure that people who understand English won't need to see our posts translated.

So generally speaking, yes, whenever the user speaks English, it's better when they write the posts in English. On the other hand, I know our forum became very popular especially because you don't have to speak English in order to being able to participate here 🙂

Δεν ήθελα να γράψω τίποτα περισσότερο για αυτό, αλλά η τελευταία σου ανάρτηση πραγματικά δεν έχει νόημα. μόνο από καθαρά λογική άποψη. Δεν έχει καθόλου σημασία πόσο καλά και πόσο συχνά μιλάτε αγγλικά εσείς, η ομάδα ή εγώ.

η διορατικότητα "όποτε ο χρήστης μιλάει αγγλικά, είναι καλύτερα όταν χρησιμοποιεί αγγλικά" είναι περίπου η ίδια όπως θα έλεγα: όποτε κάποιος έχει δύο πόδια, πρέπει να τα χρησιμοποιεί".

ότι ξέρετε ότι "το φόρουμ μας έγινε πολύ δημοφιλές ειδικά επειδή..." είναι ένα επιχείρημα νεκρό, στην καλύτερη περίπτωση μια άποψη.

Σε αντίθεση με εσάς, δεν νομίζω ότι αυτό το φόρουμ λειτουργεί πολύ καλά ή είναι δημοφιλές.

Η lcb έχει ένα φόρουμ εργασίας (διεθνές), το gamblejoe επίσης (τοπικό).

στο CasinoGuru, ο αριθμός των προβολών και των αναρτήσεων φαίνεται καλός - με την πρώτη ματιά. Με μια δεύτερη ματιά, μπορείτε να δείτε ότι το ποσοστό απόκρισης είναι αρκετά φτωχό έως ανύπαρκτο. Με την τρίτη ματιά, μπορείτε να δείτε ότι τα νήματα στερούνται ως επί το πλείστον εντελώς περιεχόμενο. πραγματικές συνομιλίες/συζητήσεις είναι σπάνιες. Η γλώσσα θα μπορούσε να είναι ένας πιθανός παράγοντας για αυτήν την περίσταση, υπάρχουν και άλλοι.

i didn't want to write anything more about it, but your last post really doesn't make any sense. just from a purely logical point of view. it doesn't matter at all how well and how often you, the team or i speak english.

that you know "our forum became very popular especially because..." is a dead beat argument, at best an opinion.

unlike you, i don't think this forum works very well or is popular.

lcb has a working forum (international), gamblejoe also (local).

at CasinoGuru, the number of views & posts look good - at first glance. at second glance, you can see that the response rate is pretty poor to non-existent. at third glance, you can see that the threads are mostly completely devoid of content. actual conversations/discussions are rare. language could be a possible factor for this circumstance, there are others as well.

There are users who speak English, but they use their native language anyway so I don't understand the comparison to "whenever someone has two legs"...

If you think that other forums are more active or better, feel free to use them. I'm just surprised you mentioned LCB's working forum (international). I've been following LCB for about 4 years and as far as I can see, most of the posts (let's say 70%+) are made by moderators / administrators. If we did the same here, then we would definitely have most of the posts written in English (since they would be written by admins), but this isn't the way I want to go.

I'm convinced it's better when players themselves create the content. Of course, if I took 4-7 of our employees and invited them to a thread for a discussion, there could be some really deep discussions, but the discussions would rather feel artificial or even fake to me.
