I usually play in the evenings when I finish work and if I have no other plans. Not very often, but not infrequently either.
It choose one casino, then more often it's ValorBet. I've seen the recommendations here too.

Ofc evening, after work. but as I work remotely, sometimes I really want to play a few hands of poker, and I do it during my lunch break

I’m not super experienced with casinos, but one moment that sticks with me was just having a small win when I wasn’t expecting it. Nothing huge, but it felt fun because it happened randomly. For me it’s more about the little surprises and the overall vibe rather than big wins.

That's exactly what it should be about. Gambling should be more about entertainment than chasing winnings. If it's like you describe, you're one of the few, I'd say, and you can be proud of yourself. I think most people play to "make money" from it.
So I like your approach.
