Hi everyone

I've noticed a strange pattern lately and I'd love to hear your thoughts. Many casinos (especially those with Curacao or Panama licenses) seem perfectly happy to accept Revolut statements and screenshots for KYC verification. They verify your account, tell you everything is perfect,' and then... things get complicated.

My question is: If a casinc officially verifies your identity and address through a Revolut document, isn't that a 'green light" that your play is legitimate and you are from a permitteo region? It feels like some operators use the verification process just to gather data, but when it's time to pay out, they suddenly find 'issues' that were visible on the same documents they already approved.

Has anyone here had their payout rejected AFTER a successful KYC via Revolut? Is crypto just a safer bet to avoid these 'verification traps'?

Hello, intriguing perspective; surely something we can dive into here. As far as I can add a practical perspective, I would like to narrow a few things:

KYC approval is NOT a permanent "green light."

What many players misunderstand:

• Initial KYC checks are often limited. Approval at one stage does not mean your account will pass all future checks (especially at the withdrawal stage).

• Casinos can (and do) perform additional verification later, including source of funds, payment method ownership, and transaction consistency.

• A document being accepted once (e.g. Revolut statement) does not guarantee it will be sufficient in every context.

About Revolut specifically:

• Revolut is a valid financial institution, but it is NOT automatically accepted by every casino in every situation

• Some operators may require additional proof beyond Revolut (e.g. traditional bank confirmation, full transaction history, etc.)

• Screenshots or incomplete statements are a common reason for issues during withdrawals

Most importantly:

• Each case depends on the specific casino, its license, and the full account history, not just one document

• What was "visible before" may only become relevant after deeper checks are triggered

So, using Revolut is not a guarantee of smooth withdrawals, and KYC approval does not prevent further verification later on.

I will of course let the players share their views. 🙂

Thanks for the input, Radka! I aet that casinos need to stay safe, but it feels a bit unfair for plavers. Ifthev acceptmy Revolut statement to verify my identity and address, they basically 'clear' me to play, Findina an issue with the same document only after I win feels like they are moving the goalposts. It just makes the whole KYC feel like a one-way street.

Hello, thank you for such a subject! Well, considering such acceptance as "clear to play" may be very misleading. We can talk about it more if you like.

Thank you for your reply!

I agree that such "ready to play" or "approved" confirmations can be misleading, and that’s exactly what concerns me in this situation.

If a system indicates that everything is fine and allows the player to proceed, it is only logical for the player to assume they are acting within the rules.

In that case, don’t you think that at least part of the responsibility should lie with the casino, since their own system allowed the action in the first place?

Especially when the process is already completed and followed by winnings.

Otherwise, it creates a situation where players can only be "approved" until they win, which doesn’t seem fair or transparent.

Hello, I believe you aim to interpret your context where there is none, to be honest. Bring terms and conditions into this for example. It is per 99 percent stated, that additional checks or verifications, even including 3rd parties like payment providers, are always possible without prior discussion with the player. 🙂

When you say that it is logical to assume that when the system indicates,... well, the reasoning seems not fact-based and, in my opinion, mirrors feelings associated with the process. Furthermore, previous withdrawals are never a guarantee for future payouts; only actual requests matter when the casino investigates.

Those checks mean that the casino is sure that all the related gameplay and account activities are in line with all terms; therefore, I would be very careful with different expectations; those usually lead to confusion.

But it's fair to say that casino support can stop this from happening by making sure that players get clear and useful information. This is because system messages or statuses can be very confusing.
